This arrived quickly from Amazon and the directions were good. I'm a 41-year old mom and I put this together by myself. I needed our wheelbarrow to prop it up. It took me about 90 minutes. I tried to put sand in the base, but the hole is so small that it was taking forever so I finally filled it up with water (I'll remember to dump it in the winter before it freezes).
This is for my 5 year-old. He is autistic; he had a Little Tykes basket and would just make 10-20 baskets in a row, it was amazing, but it was already on the highest setting. So I upgraded him to this one. After it was up, he took 4 shots and they all missed; I was a little worried that it was too tall even at the lowest setting. But then he just stood there, starring at the backboard for the longest time - and then his fifth shot went in. Now he loves it!! And it will grow with him! I love that!

About Lifetime
In the beginning, all the founder of Lifetime Products wanted was a sturdier basketball pole for his backyard. With this in mind, he found and purchased a piece of heavy-duty used pipe, a sheet of plywood, and a basketball rim. The resulting backyard basketball standard functioned perfectly in his backyard. Seeing the potential of his hoop, he placed an ad in the local free classified newspaper and made his first sale. The rest--as they say--is history. He created the American PlayWorld Company in 1973, based out of his garage in Riverdale, Utah. After expanding into several other types of playground equipment, he eventually moved to a bigger location in South Ogden, Utah. Several years later, the company transformed the basketball industry by introducing the Quick Adjust basketball pole, the first complete basketball system you could raise and lower with a broomstick. In 1986, American PlayWorld created Lifetime Products, a separate company intended to concentrate specifically on manufacturing adjustable basketball systems. In the ensuing years, the company has grown from having 18 employees in a 32,000-square-foot space in half a warehouse to more than 1,400 employees and 2.6 million square feet over 23 separate buildings.

Very nice and functional. Harder to install than indicated in the instructions. Took 4 people 4 hours to assemble. Also delivery info very deceiving, at order time suggested shipping date was a week plus a week for delivery. This was too long for a typical Amazon order. But in actuality it arrived in just a week. Shipping info in general should be more precise.

Our (tall) six year old son can easily shoot hoops. My husband said it is easy to put together. We have yet to fill it yet (have mulch bags on top of it to hold it in place) but it stays in place and is easy to move around our driveway when cars are going in and out.

The Safe and Secure Way of Installing a Basketball Hoop
If you enjoy playing basketball and want to improve your game, then you should consider adding an in-ground basketball hoop outside your house. Having the luxury of walking out your front door, picking up the ball and practicing is a great way to becoming a better player.
An in-ground basketball hoop is the most authentic hoop to have in a home. There are other options, such as a garage hoop, but if you can spend a bit extra on an in-ground hoop it's easily the better option. Many people are intimidated when it comes to installing an in-ground hoop so I've created this article to help you understand how simple it can actually be.
Before you begin to unload any of the parts of the hoop, make sure you have all the right tools and materials. You'll need concrete mix (850lbs of concrete) and a wheel barrel to mix it in. You'll also need water, to make the mix. Other tools include a ladder, several screwdrivers, a tape measure, a shovel and a wrench. You'll also need a marker.
If you are missing anything from this list, I highly recommend you find it or buy it. Borrow from the neighbor if you need to. If you try to do the installation without some of these tools, it can only lead to a hoop that's not properly and safely installed. If it's done right, the hoop can last for many years.
The next step, which you've probably already planned out, is finding the right place to install the hoop. Some people will go as far as finding a grass area and making a court, but it's most common to position the hoop on the driveway. The most important part is that the area is flat. By playing with slopes, bumps or holes, it's just an injury about to happen.
Once you're comfortable with the area, you may begin working on the hoop. It's not very easy to move the hoop once it's down, so it's important you're sure about the placement.
First mark a spot on the pole 18 inches from the bottom. This will help you indicate how deep the pole will go into the concrete hole. Then dig a hole. The hole should be 2 x 2 feet and 2 feet deep. Then proceed by mixing the concrete and filling the hole. Make sure the concrete mix is firm in the hole by patting it down. Then take the pole and place it in the hole. It should only go to the point on the pole in which you marked (18 inches). After the pole is in the ground, take your level and make sure it's straight. Continue by filling in more concrete.
After about 48 hours, the concrete should be solid and dry. Then you'll need to place the backboard and hoop together, which will then be placed on the pole. At this point, you should make sure the hoop is 10 feet tall and get ready to shoot around!

The Oklahoma City Thunder Have Come of Age
A new era has dawned in Oklahoma City. The city that just got its first ever major sports franchise just a couple years ago is now in a position where they're about to enjoy a competitive basketball team for the years to come.
This is all predicated on the fact that Kevin Durant remains part of the Thunder, but assuming he does, this team will be a force to be reckoned with for quite some time.
After getting out to a 5-31 start in their first 36 games last season, the team started out this year with an 19-17 record, easily the biggest turnaround in basketball and probably the biggest one in all of pro sports.
What is the secret to the team's success this year? It all has to do with a true superstar in the making, Kevin Durant.
While we're used to hearing about Kobe and LeBron these days, a new superstar is quietly making a name for himself, and the winning ways of his team say even more about his impact.
Kevin Durant will be a household name in just a year or two, and the world of basketball will certainly be better off for it. His scoring abilities combined with his great defense make him one of the most special players in today's game, and he could very well be considered the best at some point within the course of the next decade.
Rounding out this talented roster are two great talents in point guard Russell Westbrook and small forward Jeff Green, both in their second and third seasons respectively.
There's also James Harden and some other emerging young talent on the bench, and it should be very interesting to see where this team goes from here.
If the season ended today, the Thunder would make the playoffs as the 8th seed in the Western Conference. This is more than they ever could have imagined possible.
